Developing Linux for non-i386 architectures.
Presented by Alex deVries.
To: tlug@ss.org Subject: Meeting: Tue June 8, 1999 From: Drew Sullivan <drew@ss.org> Date: Mon, 07 Jun 1999 08:39:44 -0400 Sender: drew@pentagon.ss.org Just a reminder: Next Meeting Date: June 8, 1999 Alex deVries will talk about developing Linux for non-i386 architectures, using Linux for SGI Indy and Hewlett Packard PA RISC as examples. The discussion will follow the development starting with a compiler toolchain and working up to a fully functional distribution. The talk will be reasonably technical, but should be interesting to users who are interested in knowing more about different types of computers and how Linux development is done. Alex is Vice-president of Engineering for The Puffin Group Inc., a Linux consulting company in Ottawa, and works on contract to Red Hat Software. He developed the first userland for SGI/Linux and started the port of Linux to PA RISC.
