- Marcel Gagne is probably best known in the Linux universe as Linux Journal's French chef and author of the web column "SysAdmin's Corner". He has also written for SysAdmin Magazine, Unix Review, Java Developer's Journal, and others. He is currently finishing up "Linux System Administration; A User's Guide" for Addison Wesley (due out this year). In another life, he is president of Salmar Consulting Inc, a systems integration and network consulting firm. He is also a pilot, writes science fiction and fantasy, and edits TransVersions, a speculative fiction anthology.
- Description
- Marcel will talk about (and demonstrate) using various open source tools to design and deliver web-enabled database applications. He will cover a bunch of things that come together to do really cool things, including PostgreSQL, CGI scripting, web servers, Perl modules, cooking, and fine wines.
