"Linux makes a great platform for deploying diskless workstations that boot from a network server. The LTSP is all about running thin client computers in a GNU/Linux environment."

Linux Labs has setup a network of some 22 workstations (thin clients) booting from and using the resources of one central Linux Server. Colin will discuss the use of thin clients and server including setup and security. Attendees will have hands-on access to the workstations; in fact we will be invited to help Colin "stress test" the network and server from the 22 workstations.

There should be time for general questions and answers.

Directions: Eastern Ave is near the foot of the Don Valley Parkway.

(If I remember correctly) if driving down the DVP take the Richmond Street exit and then quickly get into the left lane to make the (almost a "U") turn onto Eastern.

By TTC: take the King (E) street car and get off at St Lawrence then walk south (approx one block) to Eastern

Enter the building via the front entrance.

Parking: on the street and (likely) in the parking lot - driveway at the east side of the building.
