This month's NewTLUG meeting will be held Tues Feb 25th., at Ryerson University.

Time: 7-10pm

Presenter: Ken Brown. Ken is a technician working for Canon in the Office Products division. Though Canon supports an OS other than Linux, Ken personally uses Linux as a desktop OS primarily for its multimedia capabilities. Ken's background is in audio and has also studied acoustics and electronics.

Main Topic: Emacspeak, a programme which allows computer access for Visually Impaired users. Ken has a friend who is visually-impaired, and discovered this application that lets her use a computer. Ken will demonstrate the installation, setup and configuration of emacspeak, some multimedia setup and demo sending and receiving email blindfolded. He will also discuss other Linux available accessibility packages.

Minor Topic: There should be lots of time for general discussion, questions and answers.
