This month's NewTLUG meeting will be held Tues May 27th., at the IBM offices 3600 Steeles Ave E.

This meeting is free and all are welcome, however, all attendees will be required to have a security badge. Badges should be prepared in advance. If you plan to attend, please send your name to Paul Mora, preferably by Monday May 26. ...and please be sure to return badges to the front reception at the end of the session.

1) Evan Leibovitch's look at a Linux install with DSL ("Damn Small Linux")
2) Ken Brown ripping CDs / DVDs under Linux. Ken Brown notes:
"I am planning to show how to use Konqueror to rip and encode CD's in one step. Konqueror can encode Ogg, Mp3, Wav, and Flac all in one pass.
The other piece of software I will talk about is cdparanoia. It has an excellent error correcting function. I will bring a badly scratched disc and have it play perfectly.
For people using Gnome-based distro's, like Ubuntu, Fedora, etc, I will mention Grip, and Lame."
3) Colin McGregor will do a Unix Unanimous style Question and Answer session. Bring your questions.

Directions:
Meet at the front entrance well before 7:00pm (6:30 recommended) to pickup your ID badge. At about 7:00 we'll be escorted to the auditorium. Some provision will be made for anyone arriving a little late.
Parking:
Free parking is available in the visitor parkade from 6:00pm to 11:00pm.
