From GTALUG
Hey Seneca.. I understand you've been collecting usergroup presentations. Is there an official home for them? -- Sy / (talk) 22:37, 30 Apr 2005 (EDT)
None that I know of at this point, and the collection is still very small in number. --Seneca 13:04, 1 May 2005 (EDT)
Ok then.. if I may, I'm interested in hosting them here, and putting some effort in asking around to get more. Alongside proper meeting minutes, presentations would be nice to have imo. -- Sy / (talk) 18:13, 3 May 2005 (EDT)
Be prepared for the presentation info to take some space; the largest size mentioned so far for a set of slides is 15MB (although that particular link 404s). I'm also going to create a 'GTALUG Archeology' page with my current info-digging status on it, linked from my page. --Seneca 09:19, 9 May 2005 (EDT)
Good stuff. I think that these presentations will be more than just a mere curiosity. A growing database of such presentation is a sort of "proof of activity" in a sense.. aside from having legitimate value. One thing which should be discussed is the notion of licenses on those presentations. For each one, someone has spent some time on it.. also, some of them may not have freely redistributable pictures or such.. so it might not be as easy as putting them online. Well, it's not a big deal right now, but it's something to think about soonish. -- Sy / (talk)
Your recent "meeting header template" modifications to the existing meetings have resulted in every existing meeting having an unfilled copy of the meeting template above the actual meeting info. --Seneca 10:53, 11 May 2005 (EDT)
Whoops! Fixed. =) -- Sy / (talk) 12:53, 11 May 2005 (EDT)

File Upload
I have enabled file upload for the site. Space is limitited current (only 2Gb avilable) So CD images are out, but 15Mb presentations are not a problem.
More space will get get added over time. Drew 15:27, 11 May 2005 (EDT)
The allowable extensions for file uploading may need to be adjusted.. please let me know and I can fix it same-day. -- Sy / (talk) 23:22, 12 May 2005 (EDT)
File Upload
File uploading appears to have been recently disabled. Colin's created a photo page for Linux World Canada (Pictures), but it looks like he was planning to upload the photos to the server, which currently can't be done. --Seneca 17:46, 16 May 2005 (EDT)
I poked around, and this looks like a technical issue.. I've pinpointed the problem I think, and I've emailed Leah for some help, since I think her magic touch may be at fault. =) -- Sy / (talk) 08:33, 17 May 2005 (EDT)
Meetings past
I have restored the old meetings directory structure so that you can get at it.
Try: http://tlug.ss.org//meetings/meeting-past.shtml
I've gotten all that I can from there, thanks. --Seneca 23:04, 12 May 2005 (EDT)
linkspam attack
I suggest that the user GlooM be banned. All his changes to the wiki have been links to various pharmaceuticals.
I have left the page he created (TLUG:About&action=edit) untouched for now so that you can see what he's been adding to some pages and so that you can delete the unlinked page, but I have deleted the links on the other pages (I hope noone other than myself saw the linkspammed mainpage). --Seneca 10:10, 16 May 2005 (EDT)
I've banned the user, and tonight I'll put in place the greater spam protection mechanisms I use on my own sites. Since you're a regular, you've been promoted so you can block spammers. For removing spam: When reviewing the Special:Recentchanges you will notice a "diff" (or "cur") link next to entries.. clicking that will give you a diff of the edit, and you will see a handy "rollback" link. -- Sy / (talk) 11:46, 16 May 2005 (EDT)
Opie
You have a link on your page to http://www.utsc.utoronto.ca/~03cunnin/ which is broken. -- Sy / (talk) 14:12, 13 June 2006 (EDT)
